Brian Novak

Prior to founding Sherwood in 2018, Brian worked at Dune Real Estate Partners, playing an integral role in opening the Los Angeles office for the $5bln New York-based real estate private equity fund. At Dune, Brian completed over $235M of real estate transactions. Before joining Dune, Brian was at CIM Group, a $28bln real estate private equity firm headquartered in Los Angeles. At CIM, Brian was involved in all aspects of the firm’s investment, development, and asset management activities; completing over $3.5bln of transactions spanning the risk-spectrum and covering various major markets in the U.S. Brian started his career at Pearlmark Real Estate Partners (f.k.a. Transwestern Investment Company) supporting the acquisitions team on a variety of equity and debt investments in the U.S. Brian holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a major in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics.
